Slab Cracking Service – S$18 per Slab

Our Slab Cracking Service allows customers to have a graded card carefully removed from its existing protective slab for raw storage, resale, crossover, or resubmission to a grading company.

Our team will carefully open the slab and remove the card while taking reasonable precautions to minimise the risk of damage during the process.

Important Notices

  • Service Fee: S$18 per slab. The fee is non-refundable once the slab has been cracked.
  • Risk of Damage: Slab cracking involves physically opening the protective holder. While we take reasonable care during the process, there is an inherent risk of damage, including scratches, scuffs, edge or corner damage, chipping, cracking, bending, or other damage to the card.
  • Existing Grade & Certification: Once the slab is opened, the existing grading certification and numerical grade are null and void. The original grade does not carry over to the card once it is removed from the holder.
  • Resubmission: If the card is subsequently submitted for grading again, there is no guarantee that it will receive the same grade. The card will be assessed based on its condition at the time of the new submission and may receive a lower grade or no numerical grade.
  • Condition Documentation: Where applicable, we may take photos of the card before cracking the slab for condition reference. These photos do not constitute a guarantee of the card's condition after cracking.
  • Preparation / Cleaning: Any cleaning or preparation performed on the card does not guarantee a particular grading outcome. Certain preparation work may not be suitable for grading, and grading companies may assess the card differently based on their own standards and inspection.
  • Customer Decision: By proceeding with slab cracking and any subsequent preparation or grading, the customer acknowledges the risks involved and accepts that the final grading decision and outcome remain solely with the grading company.
  • Customer Acknowledgement: Customers will be required to acknowledge and accept the applicable risks and terms before the slab is cracked.
