Turnaround times are only estimates. They do not include the Company’s handling time or insured shipping durations. The countdown begins only once the submission is received and logged by the grading company.

Grading rates and turnaround times are subject to change without advance notice.

 

Payment and Collection

Upfront payment is required and can be made by cash, PayNow, or credit card (additional credit card fees may apply). Fees cover general cleaning, use of an approved semi-rigid holder, and to-and-fro insured shipping. Fees do not include any grading company upcharges, which are payable to the grading company (such as PSA) and will be invoiced separately. Payments made for grading services are non-refundable once the submission has been processed and entered into the grading company's system.

If upfront payment is not possible, exceptions may be granted at the Company's reasonable discretion. In such cases, payment must be made via PayNow within seven (7) days of the invoice date. Where payment remains outstanding after seven (7) days, the Company will issue a written reminder. If payment remains outstanding for fourteen (14) days from the invoice date despite such reminder, the Company may, on giving a final seven (7) days' written notice, deem the submitted card(s) abandoned and handle them at the Company's discretion.

Card(s) must be collected within fourteen (14) days of receiving the pickup notification. Where card(s) are not collected within this timeframe, the Company will issue written reminders. If card(s) remain uncollected and the Customer has not acknowledged or responded to the Company's notifications for a period of six (6) months from the date of the original pickup notification, the card(s) shall be deemed abandoned, and the Company may handle them at its sole discretion. Exceptions may be granted on a case-by-case basis at the Company's reasonable discretion.


Insurance Coverage

Your card is insured in two stages, by two separate parties. Spearing arranges insurance on your behalf but is not the insurer at any stage.

1. Shipping to and from the grading company — covered by the courier. We arrange insured shipping through our appointed courier (e.g. FedEx, DHL etc.). Coverage and liability for any loss or damage during transit fall under the courier's policy and terms.

2. While with the grading company — covered by the grading company. Once PSA, CGC, or BGS receives and logs your card, coverage shifts to the declared value you select on their submission form, under their terms.

If something goes wrong: we will assist in raising claims with the courier or grading company on your behalf as a courtesy, but liability rests with them under their own terms.


Service Disclaimer

Our pre-grading assessment provides a second opinion on a card's condition. It does not guarantee any specific grade. Certain preparation steps, such as deep cleaning or surface treatment, may affect grading results, and submission after such work is at the Customer's discretion. The Company is not responsible for the grading outcome or any decisions made by the grading company.

If a card is found to be altered (for example, through colouring, waxing, polishing, or chemical treatment), the grading company may return it ungraded or label it as "Altered," and fees may still apply. If the Company detects alterations before submission, the entire batch will be returned without processing.
